Converted to Islam in 1995. He completed his formal studies in 2012 after six years at the Institute of Islamic Education. He has been a student at Darul Qasim since 2009 under the guidance of Sh. Amin Kholwadia. Sh. Khalid has over 15 years of experience in teaching and providing religious advisement to adults and youth. He has received the formal qualifications to teach ‘aqidah (theology/theosophy), fiqh (jurisprudence), tafsir (exegesis of the Qur’an), hadith (prophetic tradition), usul (underlying principles), and Classical Arabic (grammar and morphology). He has served as Imam and Resident Scholar in a number of communities, most recently at Masjid Al Huda, Schaumburg in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago from 2019 to 2021. One of his specialties is helping convert Muslims integrate in to the existing Muslim community with all of its cultural variances. He is currently committed to the projects and maturation of Islam of Mind on a full-time basis.
