If you think you can just Google everything you need to lose weight, good luck. Remember that a diet is temporary. A lifestyle change is more permanent. I’ve learned more about the Deen in the last few months than I have as being a Muslim for 44 years.”

I was formerly a follower of the Nation of Islam since 2003. I felt that there was still something missing while I was in the Nation. So I keep exploring until I met a sister who was following the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

I expressed my concern to this sister about not feeling complete and that I was still searching, that sister then introduce me to Sh. Khalid. He was humble as I asked him questions and as I listened to him teach and answer the questions I felt like I had made it home from a long journey.

Islam of Mind has keep me grounded on this straight path, without it no telling where I would be. I moved away from Chicago and was still able to keep in touch and learn. I look at Islam of Mind as a safe haven for me.

I met Sh. Khalid at a BBQ where he had invited the brothers there to attend a program and that was the beginning of my journey with Islam of Mind.

I was shown what true brotherhood is, how men are supposed to conduct ourselves with our families, brothers and teachers. What students of Deen look like, how to make sacrifices, prioritizing life, time, money, education and spiritual development.

 I've been building a support system and much more over the past 8 years. Thru Allahs fadl (grace) I have been able to take much benefit from Islam of Mind; its has truly made an impact on me, my family and others I have come into contact with on multiple levels Alhumdulillah.
